The Swiss franc was slightly firmer against the dollar on Friday, underpinned by hopes that a last-chance round of talks on the US budget might bear fruit. The franc rose 0.1 percent against the dollar to trade at 0.9125 compared to the New York close. The Swiss currency was virtually unchanged at 1.2088 against the euro.
